Careless Reef Hurghada is justifiably one of the more popular dive sites on the Red Sea. In fact, the site features many coral forests and a dense population of fish. Moreover, Careless Reef Hurghada also features the occasional hammerhead shark, jacks, tuna and barracuda. The reef is however famous for the large population of giant and other morays. They flourish in fact in its premises. It is thanks to all the gifts of food they get from the dive guides. The reef itself consists of two coral towers brushing the water surface. The valley between these peaks is about 16m deep. Moreover, it offers a wide range of dive possibilities for less experienced divers. A few meters east and well beyond 40m, experienced divers can find many caves to explore.

Careless reef Hurghada isolated and lies between Shaab Umm Qamar and Giftun Island. In fact, it known to divers worldwide  for its large population of semi-tame moray eels. Weather conditions often make the exposed site difficult or impossible to dive. The reef itself centers on two peaks or pinnacles which brush the surface in an otherwise open sea. The valley between these pinnacles is about 16m (52ft) deep. Moreover, it offers a wide range of dive possibilities for those not interested in deep diving. A few meters east of the saddle, there is a steep wall drops well beyond 40m (130ft). In fact, it is with a contoured profile which offers many caves and cave-lets for the more experienced diver.

Reef composition is diverse, with most coral species, both hard and soft. In fact, they make a vibrant and interesting coral habitat. Besides the famous eels, there are innumerable species of reef fishes. The reefs isolation, combined with the deep water in which it lies, make it ideal for pelagic-spotting. Moreover, Careless Reef Hurghada also features sharks such as any reef in the area. Jacks, tuna and barracuda also frequently spotted.
