7 nights Nile cruise tour Ex Luxor day 1: Luxor

7 nights Nile cruise tour Ex Luxor will start by meeting and assisting at Luxor airport. And then, there will be a transfer to the Nile cruise. Embarkation will be before the lunch. Lunch, dinner and overnight will be on the Nile cruise board.

7 nights Nile cruise tour Ex Luxor day 2: Luxor – Esna – Kom Ombo – Aswan

Breakfast will be on the Nile cruise board. And then, we will sail to Esna. In Esna we will visit Esna Temple, dedicated to the ram headed God Khnum, the God of Creation. In fact, Tuthmosis III laid the foundation of the temple in the 18th Dynasty, but Ptolemaic and Roman Emperors, completed it from 40-250 A.D. Their names recorded all over the temples walls. Lunch will be also on the Nile cruise board. And then we will sail to Kom Ombo.

In Kom Ombo, we will visit Kom Ombo Temple (the Ptolemaic temple of Sobek & Haroeries, located in the town of Kom Ombo, about 28 miles north of Aswan. Moreover, the temple dates back to Ptolemy’s, built on a high dune overlooking the Nile. In fact, the actual temple started by Ptolemy VI Philometor in the early second century B.C. Return back to the Nile cruise. Tea & coffee will be served in the early evening. While we sail to Aswan, we will enjoy a sumptuous oriental dinner and dance all night away to the Egyptian Galabeya party. Overnight will be on the Nile cruise board.

7 nights Nile cruise tour Ex Luxor day 3: Aswan

Breakfast will be also on the Nile cruise board. Today we will visit the High Dam which built in 1960 . It contains 18 times the material used in the Great Pyramid of Cheops. In fact, the Dam is 11,811 feet long, 3215 feet thick at the base and 363 feet tall. Today it provides irrigation and electricity for the whole of Egypt. And then, we will proceed to the Unfinished Obelisk, much of the red granite used for the ancient temples and colossi came from quarries in the Aswan area. Around these quarries are many inscriptions, many of which describing successful quarrying projects.

The Unfinished Obelisk located in the Northern Quarry still lies where a crack discovered as it was being hewn from the rock. Moreover, it could have weight over 2.3 million pound and would have been the world largest piece of stone ever handled, but a crack occurred, which caused it to be abandoned. Then we will visit the beautiful Temple of Philae, rising from the water of the Nile. Lunch will be also on the Nile cruise board. Tea & Coffee will be also served in the early evening. Dinner and overnight will be also on the Nile cruise board.

** Optional Tour: Excursion to Abu Simbel Temple either by private coach or by domestic flight.
Abu Simbel temples are 300 km southwest of Aswan (about 300 km by road). The complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the “Nubian Monuments” which run from Abu Simbel downriver to Philae (near Aswan).The twin temples originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BC, as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari, to commemorate his alleged victory at the Battle of Kadesh, and to intimidate his Nubian neighbors. However, the complex was relocated in its entirety in 1968, on an artificial hill made from a domed structure, high above the Aswan High Dam reservoir.

Breakfast will be also on the Nile cruise board. We will sail to Edfu. Lunch will be also on the Nile cruise board. In Edfu we will visit Edfu’s beautiful preserved Edfu Temple, known as the Temple of Horus, the Falcon God, built in (237 BC), during the reigns of six Ptolemy’s. It indeed the best-preserved temple in Ancient Egypt and the second largest after Karnak Temple. Tea & Coffee will be also served in the early evening. Dinner and overnight will be also on the Nile cruise board.

Breakfast will be also on the Nile cruise board. Today, we will start the tour by crossing to the West bank of the Nile to visit the Valley of Kings with its many tombs chiseled deep into the Cliff side. From the 18th to the 20th dynasty, the Memphis area and Pyramid-style tombs abandoned in favor of the West bank of the Nile in Thebes. Several great leaders as well as many less important rulers buried here and more tombs discovered even today. The most famous is where Howard Carter discovered the treasure of Tutankhamen in 1922.

Continue to the Valley of Queens to visit the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari. The design of the temple set at the head of the valley overshadowed by the peak of Thebes. Our last stop will be at the Colossi of Memnon. The statues built by Amenohotep III (18th Dynasty) as a mortuary temple in Thebes, guarded by two gigantic statues of Amenhotep. Lunch will be on the Nile cruise board. And then we will visit Karnak Temple, the largest temple built by a man, represents the combine achievement of many generation of ancient builders. Continue to visit Luxor temple which was built by two Pharaos, Amenhotep III and the King Ramses II who built Abu Simbel Temple. Dinner and overnight will be on the Nile cruise board.

Breakfast will be on the Nile cruise board before we disembark from the Nile cruise.
